We
started from scratches and now on our way to success. The SKMF of the It
was a rocky start to the SKMF since barangays were not able to fill up the
vacancies of SK Kagawads until there was a memo for special election. The SKMF
with the DILG conducted the series of special election which started May 10,
2008 (Brgy Caguisanan) and ended until to December 24, 2008 (Brgy Cubay). It
took months to fill up all vacancies because starting June, classes are going
on and the special elections were done only every Saturdays and Sundays. In
spite of all the struggles and challenges, we still aimed to break the norms. We
believed that the SK is not only for basketball tournaments nor for the
Barangay markers of street names but also for the holistic approach to all the
youth. As
public servants in our young age, it is hard to balance our studies and
obligation. As a matter of fact this is social injustice to our part but we chose
to be in service because we wanted to be a part of our nation-building and we
wanted to lead our fellow youth. We are not just servants but servant-leaders
who wanted to change the image of the SK. Many said that SK is a training
ground for early corruption. Others said SKs are always absent during the
session or if not, have nothing to say during the sessions. Some people would
say that we are just after the compensation or honorarium. This is a sad fact
that most of the people would look at the SK. This is the image that we wanted
to change. This is the reason why we wanted to break the norms. We
are on the process of creating a new face of the SK. We have faithfully abided
with our KK/SK Constitution and By-Laws. We have initiated programs and projects
which involve the youth and promote unity and camaraderie among the young
people. We wanted nothing but to have a strong unity among the young
Lambunaonons and to be able to realize our vision- To have a green community
with a healthy and intelligent society. With
all our cooperation, with all our efforts, with all our honesty and
transparency, together we build a strong municipality. Kudos
